Every two years, the Brocher Summer Academy, organized in partnership with professors from Harvard University and the University of Geneva, brings together a dozen renowned professors and some 50 promising young researchers and professionals for an intensive week. The program focuses on the ethical allocation of healthcare resources from a global health perspective, offering participants a unique opportunity to deepen their theoretical and practical understanding of justice in healthcare systems.
Each edition of the Summer Academy focuses on a specific theme. In 2025, for example, the focus was on equitable access to care in multi-level healthcare systems. The week is structured around daily workshops, conferences and round tables, encouraging direct exchange between participants and internationally renowned experts.
Through the Summer Academy, the Brocher Foundation pursues its mission of promoting ethical reflection and dialogue between generations and disciplines, helping to train tomorrow's researchers and practitioners in the complex issues at the interface of ethics, health and public policy.
