27 Women involved in Humanitarian Geneva, past and present

In 2022, on the occasion of its fifteenth anniversary, the Brocher Foundation its activities to the theme of humanitarian action. One of the highlights of the year was the creation of an exhibition paying tribute to Mrs. Brocher, founder of the Foundation, who was herself inspired by the example of her grandfather Jakob Dubs, Federal Councilor and co-founder of the Swiss Red Cross, renowned for his commitment to humanitarian ideals in 19th-century Switzerland.

The exhibition honors twenty-six women who have left their mark on Geneva's humanitarian efforts, from yesterday to today. This initiative illustrates the fundamental values of the Brocher Foundation, which promotes ethical, legal, and social reflection on the impact of medicine and health in our societies.

The exhibition continues its tour of Geneva's secondary schools, where every year it raises awareness among thousands of young people about the history and contemporary challenges of humanitarian action. Building on this success, the Foundation's team is currently developing additional educational materials, including an educational sheet and a series of interviews with some of the women featured in the exhibition. These resources aim to encourage students to reflect on the ethical and social dimensions of humanitarian work and health issues.

If you would like to host the exhibition at your school, organization, institution, or workplace, please contact us for more information.
