Introduction:
Implementing the principles of good randomized clinical trials
The Good Clinical Trials Collaborative is a global community initiative that has developed new Guidance to promote and enable good randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs).
One element of this work has brought together four groups of clinical researchers in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) who share the understanding that it must be made easier to do good RCTs in their settings to inform future healthcare.
Engaging wider groups of stakeholders involved in all aspects of clinical trial planning, funding, reviewing, participation and delivery is a critical step to examining current barriers and to understanding different perspectives. Our project aims to use the workshop forum to re-focus the potential of RCTs to deliver better evidence for healthcare in LMICs, using the Good Clinical Trials Collaborative’s Guidance as a central reference and decision-making tool.
