At every stage of life, a question of ethics and health: everyone is affected

Can we talk about health today without talking about ethics? Medical and technological advances have profoundly transformed our relationship with the body, birth, illness, and the end of life. Is it conceivable that younger generations could learn languages, mathematics, or history without ever being made aware of these essential issues?

The Exhibition At every stage of life, a question of ethics and health: this concerns us all invites visitors to reflect on Ethical implications major Ethical implications, legal, and societal Ethical implications related to health and new medical developments, from birth to the end of life. It is aimed at all audiences, but particularly at high school students aged 15 to 20, who will undoubtedly be called upon to vote on these issues in the future

A Life Story in Eleven Posters

The exhibition follows Lucie, a fictional character, throughout her life journey. At each stage of this journey—whether childhood, adolescence, adulthood, or old age—she is confronted with a series of simple yet essential questions. Here are a few examples from different stages of life:

Egg Freezing: Up to What Age Can a Woman Become a Mother?
What is informed consent? Who makes decisions for children? What about adolescents? And what about people who no longer have full capacity to make decisions?
When is the decision made to harvest organs from a patient with no hope of survival? Who makes that decision? Based on what criteria?

These issues are illustrated by eleven posters by artist Tom Tirabosco, accompanied by short explanatory texts and videos to encourage deeper reflection and understanding of these issues.

Interactive educational materials

Educational materials accompany the exhibition and allow visitors to explore its themes in greater depth. They are available online and consist of 30 educational worksheets, each corresponding to a question from the exhibition. These worksheets can be viewed independently and in any order, depending on individual interests. They are not intended to be read linearly or all at once. The interactive materials do not claim to provide definitive answers. Their purpose is to stimulate curiosity, personal reflection, and dialogue.

Each fact sheet provides an overview of key definitions, regulatory issues, and the main arguments at the heart of the debates. A discussion question is also included to encourage personal analysis and discussion. This is followed by an expert opinion on the topic in question.

To conclude, here is a list of resources for further exploration: Brocher videos related to the topic, news reports, documentaries, and supplementary reading, as well as a selection of literary works, films, television programs, and art to further your reflection. These suggestions are optional and not exhaustive.

The exhibition also includes a glossary that compiles the key terms needed to better understand the concepts explored in the exhibition.
