Introduction :
Bringing Men into the Spotlight: Men, Masculinities and Reproduction
This workshop aims to explore men’s oftentimes missing and under-researched roles and perspectives in reproduction, as well as relating expressions of masculinities. To this end, we will bring together researchers from a range of disciplines, including law, public health, sociology, anthropology, and psychology. The goal is to foster a multidisciplinary dialogue on the societal realities of male reproduction in light of the latest medical developments as well as the broader possibilities and challenges men encounter in the spheres of reproduction and care. Topics of discussion include, but are not limited to, gendered experiences of fatherhood, parenting and care work, fertility, contraception, child loss, queer and alternative family formation.
